Dear Friend of ILIR,
So, you got the bill out of the Judiciary Committee – now
what?
Friday April 7 is the new deadline!!!
As the debate heats up we need you to call both your State
Senators PLUS Texas Senator (R) John Cornyn.
Cornyn (202-224-2934) could hold the key to turning the
Senate in favor of McCain/Kennedy.
If you've never made a phone call to your Senator in your
life, we're urging you to do so today, Thursday and Friday.
If you've already made several calls, please make several
more.
Here's all you need to say:
The Senate is now considering immigration reform, and is
expected to vote on an immigration bill this week. I urge
you to support the comprehensive bill reported out of the
Senate Judiciary Committee, which includes a path to
citizenship for the undocumented.
The next three days are vital in the immigration debate as
the Senate is expected to have the next version of the bill
ready by Friday.
The hopes of the Irish undocumented - and every other
undocumented immigrant - depend on the Senate adopting the
same elements of McCain Kennedy as the Senate Judiciary
Committee did.
But the Senate offices are being flooded with calls from
the anti-immigrant faction.

However, at this point, calls are better.
