Historical & Political Tour of the North

(Poster's Note: Not your typical Irish tour… However, I am
sure it would be very interesting & educational. Jay)

2006 INA Historical & Political Tour Of The North Of Ireland

February 12th - February 17th

Openings Still Available

The 2006 INA tour will be a unique experience and will
focus on the 25th Anniversary of the 1981 Hunger Strike.
The group will visit each of the Hunger Striker's graves as
well as getting a tour of Long Kesh.

The tour will once again be coordinated in Ireland through
Coiste Political Tours, a republican ex-prisoner
initiative. The cost will be $500 per person/double
occupancy (flight not included). The tour includes coach
transportation, accommodations for five nights and
breakfast daily. You must make your own flight
arrangements - there are still very reasonable fares on Aer
Lingus (JFK) and Continental (Newark).

The tour will meet and depart Dublin on Sunday (midday),
February 12, 2006. The itinerary includes visiting the
graves of the 1981 Hunger Strikers; meeting family members
of those killed through state collusion; ex-prisoners and
activists with Coiste; and Sinn Fein elected
representatives. The tour will be staying in
accommodations in the following areas: Sunday, South
Armagh; Monday, East Tyrone; Tuesday, South Derry;
Wednesday & Thursday, Belfast.

Given all that is going on in Ireland and in the peace
process right now, it will be an interesting time to be
there to listen to the people on the ground, as well as to
reassure them that they do not stand alone.

The tour will return to Dublin on Friday, February 17,
2006. Just in time for the Sinn Féin Ard Fheis which is
scheduled for the weekend of February 17-19, 2006 in
Dublin. You must make your own arrangements for
accommodations in Dublin; the Ard Fheis is being held again
at the RDS and there are lots of hotels and B&Bs in the
area. Last year many of us stayed at the Bewleys Hotel in
Ballsbridge, which is right next door to the RDS.

We will arrange for passes to attend the Ard Fheis for tour
participants who are also Irish Northern Aid members.
