Extradition Treaty Hearing Update
From: Editor IAUC [mailto:editor@iauc.org]
Sent: Thursday, November 10, 2005 12:38 PM
Subject: Extradition Treaty Hearing Update
The Irish American groups are working together to encourage
Senators to make personal phone calls to Senator Lugar's
office Phone: (202) 224-4814 ASAP prior to Tuesday's
hearing letting him know that there is opposition to this
Treaty and that they will OBJECT to any calls for
"Unanimous Consent". This is to eliminate Senator Lugar
from sliding this treaty through on a fast track process
and will hopefully stall it until the next session.
FOR IMMEDIATE ACTION!!!
1.) CALL ALL SENATORS IN YOUR AREA OR THAT YOU HAVE
ESTABLISHED RELATIONSHIPS WITH
Encourage Senators to make personal phone calls to Senator
Lugar's office Phone: (202) 224-4814. If your Senator
agrees to make a call to Senator Lugar, please let us know
ASAP so we can keep track of the progress on this.
2.) TREATY BINDER: HILL DROP ON MONDAY
The ACLU has volunteered to work with the IAUC and other
groups to put together a comprehensive binder of material
on the treaty and physically deliver the material to each
member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee this
Monday.
If you have any organizational letters that were sent to
Congress by yourself or other members or Media articles
that were published relating to the treaty please email
them to: editor@iauc.org
Send your materials ASAP no later than this Saturday.
Thank you,
Deanna Turner
